I was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and my family moved to Red Deer when I was 12. In my youth, I discovered my passion for dance as I trained as a competitive dancer throughout my childhood.
I graduated from U of A in 2002 and spent the next 7 years running the dance program at Eastglen High School in Edmonton. I was the Department Head of Fine Arts at Eastlgen where I had the privilege to work along side talented and passionate drama, dance, music, and art colleagues.
My husband Glen and I decided to move back to Red Deer after our first daughter, Brooke, was born so we could be near grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We love spending time with family! In Red Deer, our youngest daughter, Leah, was born and our girls are now 8 and 6 years old.
Since relocating back to Red Deer, I have taught at Red Deer College in the Theatre program, and Notre Dame High School in the Dance Academy program, subbed for Red Deer Public Schools, and I am thrilled to now be at Annie L Gaetz as a Literacy teacher. When I am not at ALG, I am most likely teaching dance at Strive Dance Academy. There I teach tap, jazz, and ballet to competitive and pre-competitive students.
I am looking forward to a great year at ALG!
